How to use Today’s Five

Today’s Five is a daily lineup tracker for the 5 PM Eastern political talk show. This guide walks through everything visitors and admins can do.

For Visitors

Today’s lineup

The homepage shows the five people scheduled to appear today, in seat order (Seat 1 through Seat 5). Each card includes the host’s name, photo, and a short bio when available.

Rate today’s lineup

Directly below the Air Date, a five-star poll asks what you think of today’s lineup of co-hosts. Tap a star to cast your rating — one rating per day per person. After you vote, the poll shows the current average (for example, 4.3 out of 5) and how many ratings have come in. Ratings start fresh each day, and each day’s average is saved with that date’s lineup on the History page. If the admin re-saves today’s lineup, the poll resets and everyone can vote again.

React to a host

When the voting feature is on, each card shows thumbs up and thumbs down buttons with running tallies. Your browser can cast one vote per host — your choice is remembered locally so you don’t double-vote.

Browse the History

The History page lists past daily lineups so you can see who appeared on any given date, along with the average star rating that day’s lineup received.

Contact the creator

The About page has a Contact form. Submissions go straight to the admin inbox — share feedback, corrections, or suggestions.

Play Along

Pick Your Top Five

Rank five co-hosts from #1 to #5 — your top pick is worth 5 points down to 1 point for fifth. You get one ballot per day, and the leaderboard beside the ballot shows the running totals for everyone.

Guess Today’s Five

Predict who will be on today’s panel. Guesses lock at 5 PM Eastern; once the real lineup is posted the panel reveals how many you got right — with a celebration if you nail all five.

Dream & Nightmare Five

Build the panel you’d love to see and the one you’d never want on air. Both are saved on your device and can be shared to X, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.

Share the lineup

Share icons under the homepage headline post the day’s five to X, Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. TikTok and Instagram copy the post text to your clipboard so you can paste it into the app.

Alerts and off-air days

A colored banner may appear at the top of the site for breaking news or schedule changes. When the show isn’t airing — including weekends — you’ll see a broadcast-style Off-Air screen with a countdown to the next weekday show at 5 PM ET.

Install as an App (PWA)

Today’s Five can be installed to your device’s home screen or desktop so it launches like a native app — full-screen, with its own icon, and no browser chrome.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Open todaysfive.org in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (square with an arrow).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open the site in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu in the top right.
  3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap Install to confirm.

Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave)

  1. Visit the site in your browser.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a small monitor with a down arrow), or open the browser menu and choose Install Today’s Five.
  3. Click Install. The app opens in its own window and appears in your applications list.

To remove the app, delete it like any other app on your device, or use your browser’s app management settings on desktop.
